GOVT UNAWARE OF REPORTS ON LESEDI MOLAPISI’S SCHEDULED EXECUTION.

The government of Botswana says it has no official confirmation regarding reports that convicted drug mule Lesedi Molapisi has been executed.

Some reports say Molapisi scheduled for execution in Bangladesh this Friday March 21st.

Speaking to Gabz FM News, Minister of International Relations, Dr. Phenyo Butale, stated that the government is unaware of any new developments regarding Molapisi’s case.

Molapisi was sentenced to death in May 2024 for smuggling over 3kg of heroin, but her execution was initially delayed due to political unrest in Bangladesh.

Her family has made multiple appeals to save her, including seeking the intervention of former President and Kgosi Ian Khama IV, after former President Mokgweetsi Masisi previously vowed to appeal the sentence.
