The Gaborone High Court has postponed former minister Kefentse Mzwinila’s bid to stop the seizure of his assets.
Judge Oteng Motlhala deferred the matter to January 22 to study court papers after the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) moved to seize properties and bank accounts under the Proceeds and Instruments of Crime Act.
In papers filed on December 24, 2025, the DPP outlined several properties and bank accounts allegedly linked to proceeds of corruption. The assets are currently under the full control of a court-appointed receiver pending a civil forfeiture hearing.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Receiver has been barred from evicting tenants or dismissing employees at Mzwinila’s Ruretse property.
