HOT WEATHER BOOSTS COOL TIME SALES

The recent hot weather has boosted demand for cool time sold by hawkers to motorists at traffic lights in Gaborone, with traders reporting improved business in recent weeks.

Speaking to Gabz FM News, some hawkers welcomed the increase in sales, while others raised concerns about alleged harassment by council enforcement officers accompanied by police over trading without permits.

Meanwhile, Borakanelo Police Station Commander Patrick Mapodisi warned that selling cool time to motorists at traffic lights can distract drivers and cause accidents, putting both hawkers and road users at risk.

He says the practice also contravenes the Road Traffic Act.
