IEC SUPPLEMENTARY VOTER REGISTRATION AHEAD OF POSSIBLE BY-ELECTIONS

The Independent Electoral Commission says the ongoing supplementary voter registration is necessary to ensure readiness for possible by-elections following resignations or deaths of officials elected in the 2024 General Elections.

The exercise, which runs until February 13, comes amid public concern over frequent voter registration drives.

IEC Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Voter Education, Malefho Gopolang, told Gabz FM News the process ensures the voters’ roll remains current and reliable.

He also warned that voter trafficking remains a concern and urged citizens to inspect the voters’ roll to confirm physical addresses.
