Digital innovation is opening doors for more Batswana to access insurance—particularly in rural and underserved communities. With mobile apps, WhatsApp services, and USSD platforms, insurance is no longer limited to cities or the wealthy.
Speaking to Gabz FM News’s BIC’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, William Surmone says these tools are making insurance more understandable, more mobile, and more immediate, with the goal to reduce long-standing barrier-like distance, paperwork, and complicated terms.
He highlights that as the country embraces digital transformation, InsurTech uses encryption following Botswana’s Data Protection Act in order to help ensure that more citizens can protect their health, property, and livelihoods—regardless of where they live.
