Kweneng District is banking on agriculture, youth entrepreneurship, and cultural tourism in order to boost the region's economic growth prospects, as the district prepares to host its inaugural Kweneng Economic Summit this Thursday.
Speaking at a media briefing earlier today, Kweneng District Council Chairperson Honorable Ontefetse Rakhibidu emphasized the need for sustainable development through innovative practices that enhance productivity in the agricultural sector which has long been considered the backbone of Botswana’s economy.
Beyond agriculture, Rakhibidu also highlighted tourism development as a key pillar of Kweneng’s economic aspirations, stressing that the region is home to a number of underdeveloped heritage and tourism assets.
