The Republic of Zimbabwe has confirmed an outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Mangwe District, Matabeleland South, bordering Tutume, North East, and Bobirwa districts.
Farmers in the affected areas are urged to control livestock movement, brand their cattle, and report any signs of Foot and Mouth Disease, such as lameness or drooling, to the authorities.
The movement of cloven hoofed animals in the affected zones is now banned, with exceptions only for direct slaughter.
