Molepolole Members of Parliament, Arafat Khan and Shima Monageng, are calling for tougher measures to tackle rising violent crime and gender-based violence in Kweneng.
Speaking at a GBV capacity-building workshop, Khan said Molepolole’s image has been tarnished as one of the country’s most dangerous villages.
He urged Bakwena men to introspect and challenged bail laws that allow suspects to roam free while victims live in fear.
Monageng backed the call, noting that Kweneng has recorded 60 rape cases, 19 murders, and 13 defilement cases between 2024 and this year.
