40 schools across Kweneng District are grappling with severe classroom shortages, forcing many students to learn outdoors.
Council Chairman Ontefetse Rankhibidu explained that, despite efforts to address the issue, including a new classroom block at Bokaa Primary School , 10 classes at the school are still being held outside due to insufficient space. Rankhibidu highlighted that the district's aging infrastructure is unable to keep up with the growing student population.
Parents and teachers have continued to raise concerns about the impact of outdoor learning on student health and concentration.
Rankhibidu stressed the urgent need for long term plans to address the ongoing classroom crisis.
