TLOKWENG LAND BOARD TACKLES LAND MANAGEMENT ISSUES

Article By: Phenyo Babusi

Tlokweng Land Board is taking action to improve land management after a comprehensive clean up and verification of its land waiting list, starting from 2015. This initiative aims to address delays, duplicate applications, and inconsistencies in records.

Speaking at a press conference, Board Chairperson Elijah Katse said the process has improved transparency and fairness in land allocation. However, challenges remain, including squatters occupying farmlands. He also confirmed that the Sefoke land area is nearing distribution.

Board Secretary Kealeboga Kemoreile added that this cleanup is part of a broader effort to modernize land management and improve service delivery. The board is also exploring digital solutions to enhance efficiency and prevent future backlogs.

This initiative is expected to streamline operations and ensure a fairer land allocation process in Tlokweng.
