Maun West MP Caterpillar Hikuama is calling for an urgent policy review to allow disaster relief in ungazetted settlements.

This follows an incident where a family at Mapeno Cattle Post near Tsau was denied aid after floods destroyed their home—because the area is not officially recognized.

Hikuama says the current policy is outdated and forces people to leave productive land just to access services, adding that this worsens overcrowding in villages.
