The University of Botswana says it remains committed to maintaining a safe learning environment, following the adoption of a sexual misconduct policy in May 2023.
This comes as a UB professor, accused of sexually assaulting a student on January 9th, 2025, and is set to appear in the Extension 2 Magistrate Court for case management on April 28th. The accused has pleaded not guilty.
Dr. Faith Rapuleng Tuelo, UB’s Director of Public Affairs, confirmed the case is before the courts.
She explained that UB follows a structured process for handling staff-student misconduct cases, adding that staff members are suspended during investigations.
